Hello I'm going to be buying a i7-6700k and and going to be overclocking so I need help to choose which motherboard to choose?

ASRock Z170 Extreme4 Skylake ATX Motherboard :
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B012D7HBTA/ref=s9_simh_gw_g147_i2_r?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=desktop-2&pf_rd_r=3M5SW073J6SXGN6PQS2Y&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=73fe89c4-d62f-4a8a-8074-7c0f4d46813c&pf_rd_i=desktop

MSI Z170A-G43 Plus S1151 ATX Intel Motherboard :

https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-Z170A-G43-S1151-Intel-Motherboard/dp/B015WKHSMU/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1470180936&sr=1-4&keywords=msi+motherboard

It looks like the asrock is a better board but I feel msi is a better more trust worthy brand?

Solution

I would buy that board over the MSI and the Z170A I listed over that board.
Between those two motherboards, the AsRock Extreme 4 is the better choice. Offers better overall performance, looks great and sleek and is a steal at that price.
Asus have always been a bit hit and miss for quality control, so I stay away from their lower-mid range boards if they're dodgy, take the Z170 Pro Gaming for example. :)
Go for the AsRock and enjoy your build! :p

The Rock mobo actually has the better rep, they are also the number 3 seller of mobos, they passed MSI over five years ago and have been pulling away ever since. I only build on the Rock, Asus and GB - I get more trouble calls on MSI mobos than any 2 other manufacturers put together so I just don't use them. Very poor QC

So the asrock Extreme 4 is actually the better motherboard (plus it looks the coolest) or should I go something high end like a gigabyte z170 designare for it being a 6700k?

Nah, I don't think so.
'Better' is a relative term when it comes to motherboards.
Really, as long as it is good quality and has solid performance and compatibility for all your needs, like SLI or an M.2 connector for example, it is a great choice.
If you're investing in a motherboard which has say; 6 PCI slots, 4 thunderbolt connectors and 8 fan headers (I know i'm exaggerating! ;)), but you only need to charge your phone, use one graphics card and have 4 fans, it's going to be a pointless investment. :p
Something like the Designare is a waste of money unless you really have the cash to blow or need the slots, but those people tend to go for x99 CPUs and motherboards anyway!
In your case that money is better saved for later down the line for a GPU upgrade or SLI depending on what you have.
