You'll need a motherboard that supports overclocking locked processors, a good cooler, and higher speed RAM since it will be overclocked too. How much you should overclock it? Most people try to overclock it to the highest level they can safely run 24/7. This means keeping the vcore below 1.4 and temps under load at 70C or less. This may be anywhere from 4.2 to 4.8 ghz, depending on a lot of different factors. I run my i5 at 4.4 with 1.27 vcore which is as high as I can run it without exceeding the 70C under load.

im having problems with the non-k oc bios... before i was running fine on

ga z170 hd3p (f5g) (bclk - 110mhz)
core i3 6098p (oc'ed to 4.0ghz)
ripjaws v 8gb ddr4 2400mhz (oc'ed to 2600mhz)
v-core 1.15 on stock cooler max 80C temp
24/7 stable for almost a month for the reason of wanting more...

just only yesterday when i upgraded the system with a better chassis + good aio liquid cooler and +1 more ram for dual channel
now i cant oc past 101mhz keeps on forcing me to restore optimize defaults coz the system wont boot.

even try downgrading/updating the bios to - f5e/f5/f6d

is there anything that i did wrong when i upgraded?
why so suddenly i cant oc anymore?

@badactor
Problem solved..
now my core i3 6098p is running @4.5ghz bclk-125mhz /1.325 vcore/ xmp1 16gb 2666mhz ddr4 dual channel lowered the multiplier to 21.33 and my temps are 78c max 61c avg at full load and 31c on idle with some background apps..

Heres what i did.

1. Uninstalled 2 security updates on windows10 pro. There was only 2 of them so i uninstalled them both...

2. Flashed the f6d bios then re flashed f5g bios.

3. Re seated the ram to diffrent slot (slot 1 & 3 to be exact before it was 2 & 4) but i installed just 1 of them in slot 1. Then when i was finished in my oc'ing i installed the 2nd ram on slot 3.

Benchmarked and runned some test and it was all good. Dont really know what exactly solve my issues there but i know they are all related to something...

some screenies...

are these numbers safe? do i have to push it some more? or do i have to lower it down? thanks...
