Thermal Paste and Compound Paste ? Do you need isopropyl alcohol to clean off ur paste ?!?!

1. What is the difference between Thermal paste and thermal compound ?!?!

I was told you need Isopropyl to clean off ur gpu/cpu chip NO you do not i use a split sponges and a dab of water to get everything off there for YOU DO NOT NEED ISOPROPYL!

Also, is there any cheap but good Paste out there i was thinking bout getting (Deepcool Z5 Thermal Paste) :) i was reading some review it mainly a 3-5 star

Water is fine: tons of PCB assembly plants use water-soluble solder flux and wash their boards in ultrasonic water baths. It just has a longer drying time.

You could remove most thermal pastes with a simple dry paper towel too, it just requires more scrubbing.

It's the same thing, different names. Maybe you could call the stock paste "thermal compound" when you buy a cooler or stuff like that. As for the paste, there's no challange when it comes to Artic M4!

This Isopropyl thing is not need i only use a split sponge and a dab of water everything got off :) is that oky?? or bad i mean i hear you can use isopropyl to get everything off i got all my thinggy off i will just stay with Deepcool Z5 Thermal Paste

If you know anything about electronics, at least the basics, you'll know better than to use water any near a circuit (unless watercooling). Alcohol evaporates fast and cleans much better than water; use a sponge if you want (instead of cotton), but I do not recommend using water.

And about the paste, it's probably not that bad, but Deepcool...well, it is what it is, not a high quality brand. Still works if you are not picky and don't intend to overclock to the limits.-
