Trying to find out what's wrong with computer

turn on computer, black screen, no beeps, doesn't seem like it's going past bios. I have a new motherboard compatable with i7 2600 (lga1155) gtx 970 the motherboard shouldn't be a problem, due to it just came out of the bag.

Start at the beginning, you replaced the motherboard? Check connections, something is not plugged in properly. Check CPU/heatsink, power connections, etc...

Did you replace the motherboard because the system was not working? Need details about what is going on.

I tried that, nothing. plugged in keyboard, only new change is that i can tell it's posting.
