So guys I've had my computer for about 3-5 years now and it was working fine for ages. But then it started to overheat. I downloaded core temp and temperatures were idling at about 60-70 degrees. When I played any games, it would overheat and turn off. I took it all apart and tried to resit everything, and cleaned out all the dust. It worked better after that point but still overheated and turned off while playing games. Then one day I was playing a game and it overheated and turned off and now it won't turn on. Everything turns on except the display. All the fans spin up, all the lights turn on except the display.

NB: the games that I was playing were not new games and they had run perfectly on that computer previously.

Thanks Guys!

Solution
Well idling at 60-70C is way too high and continuing using your system and playing games to the point of Continuous overheating can damage the CPU.
You will have to re-apply your TIM and possibly re-evaluate your Cooling system and see if the CPU lives another day.
