CPU is randomly shutting down and im 99% its cause the cpu is over heating
But what can't figure out is why.
My setup is intel i7 4790k
MSI Z97 MB
Case is the NZXT 410 Phantnom
Cooler: Cosair hydro series H100i GTX extreme Performance water/liquid

How do i find out at what temp the computer is shutting down exactly and I bought this cooler because I thought it could handle anything my cpu could put out
I don't know much about overclocking it so I have OC genie from MSI Bios turned on
and I don't put a heavy load on it anyways so I don't know whats going on
If my room is not 75 degrees F* or below the cpu will quickly overheat on simple games like CSGO or League
The case also has 3 fans running 1 in the front 1 in the back and one the side 1400,1400,1500 rpm respectively
Even if I leave my case completely open the cpu will still overheat so I dont understand
Do liquid coolers only work in very cold enviroments I don't understand?

Download RealTemp and check your temperatures. Also Download CPUz to see what clocks/voltages your CPU is running at. once you it these reply with both what voltage your cpu is running at and what temperatures.

OC genie isn't very good and known to add too much voltage into your CPU, which cause high temperatures which can damage your CPU.

Did you disable the OC Genie before stress testing? seems like your CPU now is running at lower clocks/voltages. temperatures are very good.
you can start overclocking by going into the Overclocking tab in your bios.

Set your CPU ratio to 44 (4.4Ghz) scroll down and set your CPU Core voltage at 1.200v then save your setting and start Prime95 and test using Small FFT and let it run for a bit and see if its stable, check your temperatures too.

If its not stable then increase your voltage by .005 but if its stable you can try increasing your CPU ratio to 45 and keep repeating until you reach a clock speed/ temperatures to your liking.

Try to stay under 1.300v and 80c :) Good Luck!

I did turn off the Genie before stress testing so I want to believe that was the problem
I want to believe that was it but Ive played around with everything so much I feel as tho the comp has shut down before and Genie wasn't running
I will try what youre saying too about playing with the overclocking
thanx for everything so far
I'll comeback to the thread if The computer shuts off again and post results
also is 900 rpm good for the cpu fans to be turning at? because I set all the fans to max speed and thats the max speed they will run at

Yes 900rpm for the fans that are on the rad? that is pretty much the "Quiet" Options in Corsair link. its fine :p you can set it on balanced though so it can increase during load or make your own custom rpm curve in the corsair link application

Yes, EVGA Cards has a Silent feature where the GPU fans will not spin unless the GPU reaches 60c

ok just making sure I got scared there for a second.
Also mind you all this is happening with the case completely open
like no sides panels or top panel
I dont think I should have a problem when I close everything thing up esp since I have the 3 fans running right?

Alright sweet
Imma close everything up and see what happens
If i run into any problems should I come back to this thread or make a new one?
You've all been really helpful
