I have an I5-6600K in an NZXT S340 currently running on air. This is my first PC build and I want an AIO liquid cooler. Current OC: 4.3 @ 1.25v, idle temps aroung 36 C. I want to OC a bit higher but the temps are bothering me.

Should I place it in the front (as intake) or on one of the rear exhaust ports? If it was on the rear, it would probably be the Corsair H60 or NZXT Kraken X41. Front would be a dual 120mm radiator.

If I placed it in the front, would it cause the GPU to heat up? I currently have a GTX 970 but will upgrade in a few month to either a 1060 or 1070.

Solution
Having it as an intake would increase ambient temps, but usually its not that big of a deal.
I personally cant recommend any CLCs, they are simply not worth the price.
You can get a big air cooler for a lower price and get better performance. The NH-d14 should fit your case, as its 160mm tall.

I currently have an arctic freezer 13.

Cinebench and prime95 bring the cpu to around 70, when I clocked 4.5 ghz stress test load Temps hit 90. GPU has never passed 72 c.

So if i ditched the notion of a 120mm AIO on the rear exhaust, would a 240 or 280mm AIO in the front make enough difference to justify price? And also would it cause the other components to bear higher Temps?
