My friend has an i7-6700K with a GTX1080 but he has problem with most video games he play. GTAV, Battlefront, DOOM 201, Forza all run in 30 FPS. Sometimes he got to 40FPS. Multiplayer performance is even worse.

He got around 170 FPS in games like Bioshock Infinite but other games run really bad with 20-30 FPS all of the time. Forza is the worst offender with 20FPS. When we do CPU bench with CPUZ, the score is really low like 10% compared to the reference model.

I don't know what is the problem with PC.

Solution
the skylake had a known bios bug that was patched with a bios update that all mb vendors had to drop. people at prime95 found it. with hardware info 64 bit set it to sensor and logging. make sure the non gaming temp is 30-45c if it higher then the cooler to small or not on right. in games 50-60c with a good cooler are you temps your looking for if there higher the cpu has to throttle down. make sure you have the newest intel chipser drivers installed and the video cable on the gpu and not on the mb. in the bios set the primary dispaly from auto to peg/pci to that the gpu is the main output. turn off muilt monitor support...onboard ipgpu. in nvidia driver control panel if he has one monitor turn off muilt monitor support and power savings.
