Will a 650W Standard ATX PS2 suffice?

Hello. I have decided to build a new gaming computer and have just today ordered all the parts I want. I did however not order a HDD, SSD and a PSU.

I should be able to use the HDD and SSD from the computer I have right now. My question however is do I need to get a new PSU or can I use the PSU that came with my old case?

The case is a Coolermaster Silencio 550 and on the receipt it said that the PSU is 650W.

My components will be:
Intel i5 6600K
Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3
Gigabyte GTX 1070-Xtreme
2x8GB DDR4 2666Mhz RAM
Standard ATX PS2 650W PSU (The one that came with my old case)

Any ideas? Will it work well? Honestly I am new to this so I am not even sure it will fit, the case I am getting is a NZXT Phantom 530.

I also have the choice to buy one of my friend's Corsair 650W VS650 ATX PSU that he has only used for about 1-2 hours. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I think your power supply will work just fine.

The long term life expectancy is debatable depending on exactly what PS2 Edition power-supply it is, but you'll be fine for quite some time (perhaps for as long as you need it).

Source: Bought "lower quality" power-supplies for years - don't recommend it but objectively have never had any personal problems on single, low power draw card rigs other than slightly lower overclocking performance.

The power of your existing PSU will do you just fine. If it happens to be the Corsair 650W VS Series Enhance, then the quality is quite good also.

If it's an older VS, then it won't be quite as trustworthy, but it'll definitely run your hardware.

So you're saying I should be fine with the Standard ATX PS2 650W? I guess I could try it in either case and see whether it's okay or not.

It will be okay, but I would not rely on it for a long period of time

Lower quality power supplies work ok for normal setups without any graphics card or too much HDDs, DVD drives. Sometimes you can get away with a single gpu which does not need any extra power from psu, only plugs into the PCIe. Otherwise always avoid those.
