I've been looking at motherboards to put in my first gaming PC build and (mostly through following with PC Gamer's Best Of Series) decided on the MSI Z170A Gaming Pro (Carbon, since it was cheaper at time of searching). However, looking at the reviews for the motherboard on Newegg, I've noticed an extremely large percentage (28%) of one star/egg ratings.
Could someone explain why they're so critical of the motherboard (I couldn't understand their exact reasoning due to not knowing what their "not going past post" comments meant) as well as suggesting a quality replacement around or less than the price range of the Z170A and with similar features (I don't particularly care about lighting) if the issues are commonplace?
