gtx 1080 loses performance when overclocking memory clock?

Hello,

I have a gtx 1080 strix running at around 2150mhz while benchmarking. I want to increase the memory clock as well, but I see lower scores in 3dmark (I can post pictures later, I'm at work atm) as I increase the memory clock. Idk if its throttling (if that exists for memory clock speeds) or something I'm not aware of, but its not showing artifacts as I increase the memory clock speeds. I really want to max out my performance when I game, so please help.

Might have reached the wall as far how effectively it can run, same with other components, you have to reach the sweet spot, while you might be able to go further, you may see performance drops, take a CPU to high and stability can suffer, can generally OC DRAM fairly far over it's spec but you reach a point that the timings to run at a given data rate end up dropping the performance below what you get at a lower data rate

When I increase my voltage my performance drops a bit in 3dmark, I didn't even change any settings yet. What am I doing wrong?
