Hi,
Mobo is Asus Z170-A. Windows 7 x64.
The headphones work fine if I use the USB dongle, but it would be much more convenient (and also I heard, better sound quality), if I could use the front panel jack.
I had this problem in my previous rig and I solved it by disabling front panel detection in the Realtek HD audio manager. Thing is, in the ASUS version of the manager, I can see no such option.
The Asus manager looks like this
In this audio manager, if I change the connector setting to AC97, the manager flash out the front panel jacks. When I choose HD audio, it's grayed out. Either way, no sound comes out.
Things I tried to no avail- re-installing the realtek driver (downloaded from the Asus' website).
Connecting the HD audio connector facing the other way round (read it somewhere on this forum).
Thanks in advance
