Hi everyone, after few hours of deciding i decided to upgrade my HDD to a bit better and newer HDD. So yeah after i swapped out my old HDD and connected new HDD to my PC. So the problem is i can't even install any OS because of one funny thing - my PC just turns off randomly for example max is 3min i think usually it's like 2mins thats it. So could anyone help me out with this one? Had no luck with internet search so here i am asking for help :D
And btw i tried to use old hdd and it didn't turn off so it's probably the new hdd?

- Thanks in advance.

Yes, about the PSU as far as i know it's some old 400w PSU, i will be giving you update soon because i think i might found a solution to this. I reseted CMOS with screwdriver on motherboard and now it seems not to be shuting down. Just need to see if i could get it to windows install.

Update: Mother of god it works :D i finally fully loaded Windows 10 from usb, just need to install it. So yeah this thing is pretty strange. As far as i know nothing helped except reseting that CMOS / BIOS thing to default settings. Even though booting from usb on this pc took...

Hmm, ok with that info I would say its still likely to be a bad drive. Once its writing to it there could be something causing the shutdown. Its strange, but the most likely culprit based upon your description.

Yes it was able, but i don't want to do that on that pc i just want to make it all work on my pc. But yeah i think everything is alright with both USB and HDD. Something wrong is with my pc. I don't think it is but could it be that the problems are caused by PSU?

But you said if you try to install Win 7 off of a Disc on the new hard drive it works fine. That points to a USB problem to me.

Have you tried a different USB port?

Yeah have tried all of them. everything is the same. But now i tried to boot up pc with usb inserted and without any HDD connected and it did the same thing - turning off within 2mins. so i'm starting to think it's usb fault as well.

EDIT: i tried too boot without usb connected or HDD connected only thing that is connected is DVD drive. Same thing happend again except this time it was a bit longer until it turned off. So any suggestions?

On other pc it was just like 2mins everything :/

I just want to add that you really helped me out, thanks for all the help :)
