Hi,

First build and I'm stuck with a few connections, the case has a HD audio pin for connection which I have no idea where to connect it to. Also I have 2 fans on the case, where do I connect these two to? The CHA fan slot? or EXT fan?

Solution
On most boards, the HD audio ports are on the lower left bottom of the board, right above the psu (if not behind it). There's usually 2 Jacks there, 1 labeled for Digital audio (HD) and the other for analog (ac_97)

Every motherboard manufacturer has slightly different connotations when it comes to fans. Some say cpu_ext, some say Cpu_aux, for auxiliary cpu connectors, for case fans it's usually Sys_fan1 or Cha_fan (system or chassis fans). You'd have to look at the board and the user manual for your particular motherboard, there will be a page that'll show exactly where to place each particular fan

So far the manual is quite useless just telling me where the connections are. I'm just unsure whether its CHA fan or EXT fan the fans on the case should be connected to

Logically, the front case fan will go to the nearest fan header as that cable isn't very long. There's usually a fan header on the right hand side, sometimes low by the Sata headers, sometimes up top next to the ram. Cpu headers vary, I have 1 board where the cpu header is at the very top middle, right next to sys_fan1, and there's a cpu_aux right next to the socket and I have another board where cpu_fan is next to the socket with a Cpu_aux and cha_fan4. Not sure exactly what EXT_fan is, some boards have fan headers that run a non controlled straight 12v for things like liquid cooling pumps or additional fan controllers. Might just look like a fan header, not sure. If I knew your motherboard model, I might be of some more help.
