Hello I just bought my new laptop Acer Aspire v17 Nitro Black Edition for gaming.. But I've noticed that the temperature is pretty high , i did Maximum processor state 99% , unfortunately i cannot remove the battery (btw what do you think about this , does it worth taking my money back since i cannot remove the battery my cable must be plugged in nonstop because im gaming nonstop and that will destroy my battery...?) I did stress test with Prime95 (about 1 minute and thats the results --> https://postimg.org/image/8c14vqppt/ ) I also use SpeedFan program to check my degreese and while im playing the temperature is --> https://postimg.org/image/ygzee5r4h/ is it normal? I have Intel I7 6700HQ 2,6 ghz up to 3,5 GHZ , 8 gb RAM DDR4 , Nvidia geforce gtx 960m 4 gb GDDR5 , 1 tb HDD , when idle the temperature is --> https://postimg.org/image/z1ozuuj6v/ . Im really worried if my laptop is okay or not . SHould i refund it and take my money back despite that the batter cant be removed so i can make it cooler? Also when im not playing anything my laptop is kinda quiet but when i start playing is really noisy is this ok? If not how can i fix all these problems (if its impossible im about to refund the laptop and never again buy this) If you can suggest me any softwares for win10 which can make my laptop cooler i'll be rly thankful .. Sorry for so many questions but im totally new this is my first laptop and im literally a newbie and dont know anything.. Hope you can help me , thanks a lot !

Sorry I think you may have misunderstood me.

You should not be able to game on MAX without the power-cable plugged in.

Once removed from power, your laptop should go into "power-saving" mode, and 20-30 fps if perfectly normal, perhaps even ideal to have more than 20 minutes of battery time.

If I understand you correctly, as long as your computer doesn't completely shut off when disconnected, then you should not return it.

It sounds like you have a good computer on your...

Your temps are absolutely fine.

Anything under 75c for the GPU and 72c for the CPU should be just fine.

You've done a great job of checking, but you have nothing to worry about.

Note: Most gaming laptops cannot run their dedicated GPU without being plugged in, but can run integrated while disconnected.

If you cannot run your laptop AT ALL without being plugged in, then yes, return it. But not being able to game disconnected for very long is perfectly normal.

Yes.. If i unplug the cable no matter what settings i do i cant get more than 20 30 fps mb even less , i must be plugged in nonstop (for playing at MAX) So you suggest me to return it and maybe thats what i'll do.. But what if im permanently plugged in? Will this ruin my laptop and battery or its not a problem at all? If not i wont return it , if yes then i'll do it

This won't ruin your battery as long as you do healthy battery cycling, as described below:

1). Try to unplug your laptop from the battery 2-4 times a month (basically once a week) and let it drain its power to 0% battery. You could maybe watch some youtube videos or something while it happens, or leave it running.

2). Plug the computer back in, and use as normal.

From my experience, as long as you complete a cycle once a week or so, you should experience bare minimum battery damage, if none at all.

The engineers of these computers know that it will be plugged in the majority of the time.

Is the noise really a problem when im playing because its really noticeable and far away from non-playing status (quiet) or its all completely normal. And i wanted to thank you really so much for all the effort and time spent to help me and etc. Cheers!

That's probably just your fans going off. It's quite normal for them to be a bit loud. There's not too many solutions for this, other than reapplying thermal paste (but this may be a bit too much hassle right now).

Personal suggestion: Wear noise canceling headphones or put your in-game speakers sound a bit louder to mask the noise.

Remember to pick the solution you feel helped best for the next guy with the same question.

Cheers mate!

The exact problem is buzzing sound coming out from the inside the case not the speakers and it happens only when i move my cursor. Maybe its the same thing you sir told me about.

That sounds sort of weird. Would you be able to send us a video of that happening? Might be a lot of trouble, but I've never really heard of this problem before and would like to help you fix it.

Ah yes, the most common solution to this problem is as follows:

1). Set your windows settings from performance to balanced. You can do this by pressing Start -> Type in Power -> Click on Power Options -> Set to "Balanced"

Try that, hopefully if fixes the noise. Cheers mate.
