Solution
There's also http://daumpotplayer.com/download/ try it and see if it fits you better.
Problem with your WMP may be playing DRM protected movies.

well before i upgraded to windows 10 it played dvds just fine i have watched captain america:winter soldier on it could it be the type of video file windows media player cant play certain ones and as dvds progress through the years they use different video files? and i will try that and see how it is

Basically, yes. Apparently it was not their own but were paying royalties for codecs needed. Production and use of DVDs as media has slumped last few years i favor of Buleray and internet distribution of movies and music. Many don't even include a DVD player in computers any more.

actually i was wondering too a dvd/cd/blu ray drive internal do i need drivers or can i use a driver to install windows if flash drive doesnt work because it wont let me for some reason put windows on my flash drive with a media creation tool, so basically without windows can i use a drive to read a windows 10 disc and just plug it in and it works and the product says no software so the software is just vlc or something?

No, you don't need any special drivers for it, windows should include one, they haven't changed since 2006. If you make a proper bootable DVD disk, stick it in the drive and adjust BIOS to BOOT from it, you should be able to do clean install of windows from it.

no what i am saying is i dont have windows yet so how can windows include a driver for it if windows doesnt exist on my the hard drive i want to use it to boot my computer up with it for the first time i am using a laptop right now but i am however building one so how do i boot up windows with a drive taht doesnt have windows on it and a blank hard drive

You have to download windows ISO to make a bootable DVD disk from which you boot and install windows. Drivers for all kinds of parts are included in those windows. You can do that on any computer.
You can also buy windows on a media like USB or DVD disk.
