I tried taking a new my laptop, a Samsung NP700Z5C-S02UB, and an ssd, a Samsung Evo 850 to a computer shop, and apparently, either the drive is defective, or somethings up. My other thread described what happened when they installed Windows 10 onto it (albeit an unlicensed copy)

I've given up on cloning, and thinking of exchanging the defective ssd, and buying a new SSD alongside a CD copy of Windows 10. As for my old files, ill just back them up to something and swap them over when the new drive is running.

What equipment will I need? What are the steps to do this and do it right? This laptop was bought in 2013 with Windows 8 preloaded. What kind of problems might I run into?

I plan to buy a new legit copy of Windows 10.

Also, could my past problem with the cloning failure been bc the HDD was 1 TB but the new SSD was a 500GB?

Could have been a clone operation that went bad.
Or, could have been a bad software install to start with.

OK now I got my product key using a 3rd party freeware. I'm going to install Windows 10 onto a Cruzer flash drive. Given this, can I use this to install into a new SSD, what is the step by step of installing this onto a completely blank SSD?
