System specs:
i7_6700k skylake
asus z170i pro gaming
corsair 2x8gb @3200mhz DDR4 (not on QVL)
PSU 650w corsair

So I got a full new pc build like 2weeks ago, everything installed nicely and using the onboard integrated gpu via displayport. Updated everything including BIOS, all passed with flying colors and set RAM to xmp profile. This worked with no fuss for about 2weeks until yesterday evening when it suddenly wouldn't post anymore.

symptoms:
-power turns on, fan turns on
-no usb power to keyboard or mouse
-no signal to screen, not via displayport or hdmi, both onboard
-at first only the standby power led on, no other led activity(qled or hdd/ power on led)
-reset cmos by shortcircuit pins as described in manual, now also sound led on which I disabled prior in BIOS, everything else still inactive
-removed all case fans
-removed all hdd
-doublechecked power connectors, both of them, also tested with old psu that still works for old system and is 850w corsair to rule out psu
-removed ram, boot in all different configurations, single dimm first slot, second slot, try other dimm and repeat
-checked for bent pins in cpu socket, none found
-tried different monitor using displayport and dvi
-tried with dedicated graphics card on dvi, hdmi and displayport also made sure additional power connected for card
-tried powercycling by pressing power on button for 1min with power cable disconnected
-tried cmos clearing with disconnecting all power and the cmos battery for more than 12 hours
-tried disconnecting power button and reset button and booting by shortcircuiting the pins with screwdriver instead
-tried removing mobo from case, all the test above were done out of case

So yeah not sure what's left, scoured the forums already and starting to run out of options.

Observation:
Qled debugging doesn't seem to respond at all, removing all the ram doesn't light up the ram led at all, can't recall them ever functioning. Does this mean my mobo is bricked or is it a ram issue?

Just ordered a system speaker to hopefully get more info, but I would assume qled should work independently from the sound beeps.

At this point, I'm willing to reset the BIOS back to the original version, but I can't seem to access it anymore since none of my peripherals are responsive.

Anyone have an idea or can help me with some deductive reasoning, maybe I missed something.

Thanks in advance, it is much appreciated!

Solution
Well for all the tests you run, if its a faulty CPU you could have an answer by listening to speaker beeps, if that don't work out I assume its faulty MOBO. I had a a similiar problem with a Asus z97 PRO GAMER. I RMA board and all good so far.

So I tested my ram sticks at work today and they seem to be working just fine. Guess now it's either the mobo or the cpu, I dread to think it might be both.

Does anyone know if there's any way to check a cpu visually for issues other than being bent. Are there tools you can buy to check a cpu like there are for PSU or motherboards?

What are the risks of putting a potential faulty cpu into another motherboard for testing? Can it fry the board?

Yeah it turned out to be a faulty mobo, the debugging QLEDS were not even working, I RMAed it and went with the more expensive VIII Impact instead, haven't had an issue since.
