I was getting ready to purchase APC® Back-UPS® ES 550 Battery Backup, BE550G, 550VA/330 Watt UPS and then a read a review that says do your research because that person's computer didn't function correctly with the stepped simulated sinewave that the UPS uses. So I ask you guys, Will the APC® Back-UPS® ES 550 Battery Backup, BE550G, 550VA/330 Watt UPS work with my Corsair CS650M power supply. All I'm looking for is a cheap UPS that will give me 5 minutes to shut my computer down correctly if my power goes out.

In general, no. As mentioned above, your max power is 550VA, so if your computer is above that the UPS will just shut down instantly. https://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-CP850PFCLCD-Sinewave-Compatible-Mini-Tower/dp/B00429N18S is only $125, and if you are actually using less (most computers do), you can usually find lower versions for even less.

I dont have the money to get one with a non-stepped sinewave as they are around $200, I was just wondering whether it was worth it to get one for around $50 vs not getting one at all
