I need a budget GPU (under 200) that can run at 2560x1080.

I currently have a 2k monitor, what would be the best gpu under 200$ to play games like gta 5, dark souls, battlefield,etc. Im far from a hard core gamer and i dont really care that much about the fps, i just want to be able to play games smoothly on high settings without any lag. I was thinking about buying a gtx 750 ti 2gb, but im not sure its powerful enough to play the latest games on 2k resolution.

No the 750ti is no where near strong enough. The R9 380 or 380x are probably the cheapest cards I would consider for that resolution. You really should get a R9 390 or GTX970 though.

The 380 is the cheapest card that would really do great for you. The GTX960 would be ok, but it tends to be more expensive that the 380, but not quite as good.

What country are you in? Aren't 4gb RX 480's $200 in the US?

AMD claimed they were going to be $200 USD and they probably will be eventually but not yet.

Thanks everyone for helping. I decided that im just going to buy a 1080p monitor and stick with the gtx 750 ti due to my tight budget.

Its a little over my budget and i live in canada so it will cost more. I need something in the 150$ range. Ive done some research and i read that the gtx 950 2gb was able to play on a 2k res. But at lower settings

RX 470 reviews are out and it looks pretty darn good. Not that much slower than a 480. I'd go for that when they are are released.

As you said above, stick with your 750ti until you can get something better.
