I've fairly recently put together PC (start of January) and it was running fine with alright temps.
Now I cant even play WoW or any other game on ultra without my GPU temps hitting 90c+ while my fans are blaring at 100% on afterburner.

This makes no sense to me as I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, EVGA supernova 750 psu ,Corsair Carbide Series 200R and a Intel Core i5 4690K which should run WoW on ultra no problem as it's not a GPU intensive game.

Anyone got any ideas why this happening? I already updated my GPU driver so that can't be it.

Solution
Try remove case side panel , and see how much temps you will get , i just found your case and its seems like no very good Airflow cases. Especialy for AMD R9 series (the hotest chick outhere) . See if its drop temps, if its does then u need better AirFlow in the case more fans? blowing in, another fan , blowing hot air out.

Q.
How many fans do you have inside your pc case?
Q #2
Do you play games, when pc case side panel is close?
Q #3
Whats the temps of CPU?
Q #4
Whats your PSU Model???

Answers:
90c is high and in this state why u get low FPS ,because of the R9 390 at 90c is throttling himself.
When the Temps drops below 80c - 75c u will see much better performance.

p.s Im not kind of expert of "AMD cards" but i do...

I think i only have the one cooler fan on the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, but I'll try what you suggested in the morning as my PC is in a unreachable place (the case is in a little nook attached to my desk, near the bottom). Probably just need another fan really.

Sorry, It's late, I haven't thought about replacing the paste on the 390. I'll try the things mentioned in the morning, thanks.
