Hello! Im selling to my friend my old MSI GTX 770 OC for 150€... Now I will buy a new gpu but I can't decide witch one to buy... I have this two options for now and I can spend 500-530€:

MSI GTX 980TI OC
MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8GB

The diference is about 30€ but this is not the problem... I just want to know what would be a better buy since the GPUS performance is almost the same... There is any reason to buy the 1070 over 980ti just because its newer?? Cause it have more VRAM? I need your opinion please.

ps: I don't want sli in future and only want factory oc...
Games I play: GTA V, Witcher III, Total War Rome II, World of Tanks, Smite, Overwatch...

Thx for help! :)

Solution
The GTX 1070 is kinda more future proof for Vulkan/DX12 titles.
Also consumes much less power -> generates less heat.
There are additional handy features like more RAM (good for over 1080p gaming), Fast Sync and other improvements.
If you can get a cheaper GTX 1070 with axial (open) cooler, do it, the performance difference is next to none.
I'm personally fan of EVGA due to excellent cooling, reasonable pricing and best service + most flexible warranty.
