bluntly, No. Depends on budget though, will it be better than your current, yes it will, will your new CPU constrain a 960, a little maybe, will it constrain anything else in future, yes. Will you regret not saving for a faster processor, or swapping to an infrastructure that can go further, probably yes.
But knowing it's limitations it's then your choice as to it is worth it.
