slow wifi from Verison but Fast WIFI and modem?

Ok so our current wifi plan is slow wifi and the modem and router the company gave us were all very slow, but recently i have been getting into the gaming world and i want to buy a good router and modem. my question is will a faster router and modem be limited by the Cable company we own?

yes and no.

you can only get the speed that you pay for from your provider so faster equipment wont make much difference if your cable company only gives you slow access

if your equipment is so old that your equipment is not capable of the speeds your paying for then yes an upgrade can make it faster.

chances are though they gave you a router/modem capable of the speeds you pay for so upgrading equipment wont get you very far (outside of paying rental charges)


you know what you pay for so try going to like speedtest.net to check your speeds. if your getting what you paying for equipment is not the issue. your isp speed is your limit.

well is there any other way to get fast speeds without having to pay monthly fees?

your max speed is based off how much you pay. that's how isp make there money
