PNP Webcam installs wrong drivers

Hello,
I'm having issues with my Havit PNP webcam. The camera itself is pretty old but it was working fine until I made the jump from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 .The problem is that Windows automatically installs drivers (Vimicro drivers to be exact) which make the webcam not working. It is recognized but it doesn't work. The camera being a PNP webcam it doesn't need any drivers, but windows thinks it does for some reason. Removing the drivers results in the camera not being recognized. I don't know what to do.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

P.S. There are no drivers on the manufacturer's website.

Solution
No problem.

There may still be some other options.

Look at this Amazon webpage:

https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=havit+webcam&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=72765195204&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12713686130559090983&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007869&hvtargid=kwd-4519984709&ref=pd_sl_3v14eeyw8i_b

The Vicbovo looks very similar - could be just cosmetic and their drivers might work for the Havit. Just not sure which one is the original and the other being just a branded clone.

See if you can find and download drivers for the Vicbovo. Might prove workable.

Again be careful of any sites offering the drivers. A couple of sites I attempted to access were flagged as "dangerous".

Do you have any backups from the Windows 7 system? Maybe the old Window's 7 driver would work.

Is there a model number on the camera?

Google that model number or part number if there is one.

You might also find that the "Havit" is actually made by some other webcam manufacturer and just branded "Havit" Some other driver may work but it would be a matter of some trial and error.....

Just be very careful as you will probably find a few sites claiming to offer the driver(s) but, in truth, who knows what they are putting out.
