Will a gtx 950 2gb be able to run games at a 2k resolution (2560x1080)?

You don't care about the fps? but you want the games to run smoothly?

The games need decent fps to run smoothly.

Depending what game you run, it may struggle

2 questions:
Define "smooth" for you. 60FPS locked about every second?

What's your preferred graphical settings for games? Low, Medium, High, Ultra?

Afaik, a 950 is a decent budget card for 1080P gameplay at most. You can stay above 40FPS most of the time depending on your visual presets, but don't expect things like all High Settings, 60FPS 24/7 with that card especially if you want to play games from the past 1-2 years. Even cards like the 970 are best suited for 1080P 60FPS gameplay so I honestly don't expect a 950 to run at smooth FPS all the time.

But since I'm still new to this whole thing, I would take my words with a grain of salt.

Performance impact is different from game to game. Expect something around 20% lower fps compared to 1920x1080 resolution.

Not all games support ultrawide resolution. In that case you will play them in full hd and black bars left and right.

So with gtx 950 you will get playable fps, just dont expect very high settings.

In current generation games I think yes, it will.
