I was wondering if getting another GTX 770 would give me a performance boost! Despite I already have one GTX 770 at 2GB and I would need to another one at 2GB. But im unsure if it will give me a boost if I only have 2GB of VRAM between the cards in SLI. Or should I just sell my first 770 and get a 970.

Solution
Of course always depends on the deal you find, and what you're trying to accomplish. With the GTX 770 SLI you're still restricted to a 2gb frame buffer, but with the 970 you'd have 3.5gb. Do you find yourself more needing the extra vRAM, or are higher FPS more what you want?

Single cards are, of course, always the best solution (though this is getting better), but with SLI there will be some games that simply don't support it. On the other hand, many of them that do are the ones that need it most......but there are exceptions.

But a 1060 seems really cheapy and taty as ive watched reviews on it. I also hate the back plate. But i was considering waiting for the 980 to come down in price and then get a second hand one

The Asus Strix one uses the same PCB and cooler as the 1070 and 1080.
