I just bought My new GTX 1070 and Decided to overclock it in MSI afterburner. When At time I would have accidentally gone too high cause i wasnt so sure if i had the OC version or Non oc version. After fiddling around with it and got to what was stable, I started to get some weird lens flare popping artifacts on my screen. This mostly happened when overclocked and kinda had the affect without the overclock. And to also be aware, This only happens in 3D games (Shows Up more in Battlefront and GTA V). I've tried changing the DVI Dual Link cable since my monitor runs at 144hz, but once I overclocked it the weird popping artifacts came into play. I tried to test it with an HDMI cable at 60hz and seemed perfectly fine. I dont know what else to do and ANY sort of help would be appreciated. If this helps, The monitor that I have is the Benq Xl2411Z

yes it will. but sometimes this kind of issue stemming from the gpu having too high clock. my factory overclocked GTS250 will have black artifact once the temperature reach 80c. lowering the shader clock fix the problem for me (so no artifact when temperature exceed 80c). so if yours having the artifact at factory setting maybe you can ask for RMA.

now a few weeks back nvidia seems to have issues with high refresh rates but it seems related to the card will be having high power consumption when the refresh rates set to 144hz (even on desktop) but not about artifact when using high refresh rates monitor.

Wouldnt downclocking my card make it perform less though
