How to speed up Windows 7 Laptop!

I have a old Windows 7 laptop that I use for my company but its so slow it actually takes close to 30 mins to startup from a cold boot. I have lots a pictures also about 18,000 and I want to save those with a few other things. How am I able to reinstall windows if I don't have a key to reactivate it or disk. I can't upgrade to windows 10 due to some programs not compatible with it so I don't know what to do. Any tips or links are appreciated. Its a HP Laptop cant find serial key, still updating.

"magical jelly bean keyfinder" will find your activation key.
It should also be on a sticker on your laptop.
Sometimes it is in the battery compartment.

Replacing your Hard drive will do wonders.
You can clone your hard drive to a Samsung ssd and simply replace it.
I have done this with some very old units to good effect. IBM T61 for example

Appreciate it all for the answers, after sometime of tinkering with it I found a recovery option that lets me basically reinstall windows and wipe everything, I'm going to backup my mandatory programs and reinstall windows.
