I purchased a EVGA 1080 SC gaming but then realized that it has other models but is there a huge diifference

Also mine is 8 pin and the others are 8+8 pin. which in my head makes me thin kits half as bad as the others which i know it isnt but is there a reason for this ?

Thank you

The SC is a reference design PCB and therefore is subject to the limitations associated therewith. Tho with a better cooler, the SC will be able to erase much of the differences. There are significant differences especially in the areas of sound and temperature. If ya check the reviews over at Techpowerup....

Temperature w/ max OC ranges from 68 to 83C
Sound ranges from 30 to 37 dbA
Overclocked Performance varies by up to 4%

Palit was the fastest and quietest...Asus was the coolest

The SC is a reference design pcb so only has one 8 pin. The other models use a custom designed pcb. In theory they are designed to provide better overclocking results but all the reviews so far haven't shown this to be true with pascal cards. All versions of the 1080 seem to perform/overclock equally. Silicon lottery plays more of a role in overclock speeds with these cards than the specific model.
