Can you quantify or elaborate on exactly what "there is literally no difference" means? Are you stating that you get exactly the same benchmarks in games or something? Have you not ran benchmarks and you're just seeing same framerates in your favorite games?
There is no reason to use the included CD, you might as well throw it away. Get the latest drivers off nVidia's website which is what you should ALWAYS do. There is no reason to load an outdated driver from the CD that comes with a product. Sometimes included apps are a different story as licensing terms prevent them from offering the software as a website download, but you don't need any extra software for a video card unless you want to overclock it, then there are many 3rd party apps to do that.
Anyway I am too lazy to look up benchmarks and you can do that yourself, but there are a couple of ways the 960 should clearly be better than the 750 TI, that it's maybe 50% faster, and that it supports HDMI2 for 60Hz refresh to a 4K monitor. This second factor makes it a great budget video card for 4K res, though a GTX950 is an even better value for that if the user isn't gaming.
