Trying to find a reliable 3TB hard drive to put into my nas. I'm going to be buying two of these at once. Trying to avoid anything seagate. I may or may not have it on all of the time. Just some perma storage thing that I can move all of my stuff onto just to archive.

Solution
You would do well to avoid seagate drives of 2tb or 3tb.

They seem to have quiet a high failure rate after a few weeks or months of use Spanky.

I would probably opt for a WD drive, Nas class.
WD 3Tb drive with a platter rpm speed of 5900 rpm. Sata III or II compatible.

Is about £ 92.
