CPU Over Voltage Error

Just recently got a 1070 for my gaming rig and once I booted it up I get this error now. Have no clue what could be causing this since my previous 980 ran with no issues. Tis my first post, any guesses as to what the problem may be?

i7-4790K 4.00ghz
Gtx 1070
Asus z97 mboard
850 gq psu

I think this is only an error that gets displayed while the board POSTS, unless there's something I'm unaware of. I got that error once on a different ASUS board, and my CPU was toast in seconds. Did you check to see what voltage is being supplied to your CPU? In my case it was caused by a random motherboard failure which caused VCore to spike to 1.78V.
