We have a lot of devices in our house (More than 5 computers, several tablets, smartphones etc.), but the 3 windows computers (2 with 7 and one with Vista) often drop internet access while staying connected to the router, an older Apple Airport Express from around 2010-11. I've done endless troubleshooting over the past 6-8 months, but no solution has come remotely close to fixing this issue. I've changed every commonly recommended setting, changed from auto-obtain IP, reset winsock, flushed DNS, put my computer on a static IP to avoid interference, you name it. It also happens in the middle of the night when only one computer is using the internet, and at about the same frequency as during the day, so I doubt it's interference from other devices. We're far enough away from our neighbor's house that their networks wouldn't be interfering either. We just had someone out to repair our cable modem and redo wiring and all that. All the windows computers use Trend Micro (I disabled that too. No dice). This used to happen on one of the tablets, but since we got the wiring redone, that's stopped happening. I'm grasping at straws here. I can provide more info if necessary, thanks in advance!

Solution
It sounds like there is an issue between the router and modem. What kind of router are you using, and how old is it? have you tried updating the firmware at all on the router? it could be out of date.
