Should I enable TRIM on a new SSD?

I'm buying a new Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD and i'm wondering if I should enable the TRIM thingy on it. Are there any downsides to it or is it a must do thing?

With Windows 8.1 and up you should never have to use TRIM manually (unless you use your disk for highbandwidth server applications, constant 200MB/s + use for 24/7)

I will install windows 10 on it.
How can I check if it's enabled to make sure?

If you do a clean install on an SSD that has TRIM and you have 8.1 and up, it's enabled.
