So I got Overwatch a couple days back. And it ran at a measly 30-40 fps even with graphics options set to the lowest possible settings at 1080p (with resolution scaled down to 75℅ and everything else at low I was able to achieve a steady 55fps.

Here is my PC :
Intel i5 2500k 3.3ghz
AMD Sapphire HD 7750 GDDR5 1GB
Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM
600w Cooler Master PSU.

I figured this game runs poorly due to my gpu which is about 4 years old. So I needed help with a new gpu choice. I currently have set my eues on a ASUS R9 380 2gb Strix gpu. My budget is around 200$ so is this gpu going to be enough to run the game at a steady fps with good graphics? I don't actually want them maxed out. Just playable, without the need to stare at muddy textures.

Solution
Amd 7750 R7 with 512 active shader processors.

Amd Asus R9 380 with 1792 active shader processors = 1280 more than a R7 7750 card.

Also the data bus of bandwidth for the memory speed of the R9 380 card is wider in bits, so it can process more data in a shorter and quicker amount of time Nexusrev.

You will by all means be able to run each game you plat at 1080p resolution, with the graphics detail settings of each game at least set to Medium or High settings the Asus R9 380 card or variant comes with either 2 Gb of memory fitted to the graphics card, but also there is a 4Gb memory version also.

I would if the price is right for you opt for the card with more memory on board.
Because as you increase the screen resolution in any game...

Because as you increase the screen resolution in any game, or start to turn up the in game graphical effects and options and quality of textures displayed more memory is required on the graphics card to store and display the game textures nexusrev.

It is faster and more efficient for any game textures to be stored within the memory of the graphics card as it is local to the Gpu on the card. for faster drawing of them and recall of the game textures.
Helping to speed up the games in most cases, any you will find a better frame rate output for the games you play with higher Graphical detail settings set, or selected.

A lot more playable.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll see if I can get my hands on the RX 480 then. If for some reason fate doesn't allow it, I'll get the r9 380 instead. Once again, thank you for your time.
