MOBO wont boot with ram inserted in 2nd slot!!!(2 slots only)

im having msi H81 p33 mobo...for past 5 months i was having only 4gb ram in the 1st slot only(cosair vengeance 4gb)..now when i tried to increase it to 8gb by adding another 4gb to the 2nd slot(EVM strontium 4gb)..PC didnt boot!!
---tried swapping rams--it dsnt works
both rams are working perfectly in the 1st slot only...
tried putting ram in 2nd slot only..that too dsnt work
only 1st slot is working..if there is a ram in 2nd slot..pc wont boot!!
many have the same issue..!! but i didnt got a FiX!!
pls help!!
 
Solution
It is not unusual to have a problem booting when using two different brands of RAM. I suggest using a single kit that has a matched pair of modules that has been tested and is guaranteed to work.

Motherboard supports:
DDR3 1600/ 1333/ 1066
The CPU model would determine the best memory speed to use.
