I just build my parents a new home PC featuring the AMD A10 7870K.
During testing the CPU and making sure that everything is running OK I noticed that the idle temps of the CPU is at 50 degrees and when put under full load it jumps up to 93 degrees.
I used HWMONITOR to check the temps. I then googled some and read somewhere that HWMONITOR does not read the temps correctly for APUs.
I also installed AMD Overdrive where it displays the number of degrees your CPU's temp is from it's max operating temp. According to it I'm +-27 degrees away from this max, and from what I found the A10 7870K max operating temp is 72.4 degrees. So from this it means that the CPU is only running at +- 45 degrees under full load.
So my question is whether or not HWMONITOR actually does read the temp wrong and the Overdrive temp is correct or there is something else wrong.
