I would like to buy a gaming laptop 2 choices are with 128Gb SSD+1TB(7200rpm) and the other is 256Gb+1TB(5400rpm) which one to choose, how much difference can they make in performance?

Solution
If the computer did not have the SSD drive then the 7200 rpm would be desired.
Since the computer does have an SSD then the speed of HDD is not as important, and thus size of SSD is more important.

Best case, 7200/5400ths as good, which is hard to notice, and on random reads and writes the improvement may be only half as much, and again that's best case. Solid state drives shine on random access, where hard drive performance drops to just 1/10th of sequential. And unless you always operate your laptop on a desktop, do you really want to risk losing data from the hard drive being moved around?
