Folks,

I`ve been reading so many contradictory opinions about recommended PSUs for the the 480 Nitro and an i5 6500 that I really cant make out what I should be going for.

I`m looking at a 550W gold PSU, and while some say that it`s absolutely fine, some are like "cards work like sound systems, the more wattage the better". Granted, the nitro goes up to whopping ~220ish.

So are we saying that the additional 300W available would not be enough for the rest of crap like a low draw CPU, an optical, ssd, wifi card etc. ?

What do you think about the wattage headroom argument? Even if my system goes up to, say, 500W leaving 50W left, could that impede performance?

Your gonna be doing some overclocking the 600W would be more recommended. But 550W is good if aren't. I'm rocking my RX-480 with a 550W but its a referance card so I'm not sure. Anyway the nitro is made for overclocking.:bounce:

Then you need a good monitor. If you want some eye candy especially, an IPS would be good. The RX-480 would be able to handle monitors pretty great. I have an 1440p IPS and the colors really outshine in the competition.:D
