I am completely new at this, and would like some input.

I would just like to know if the following parts are a good combination (and are compatible). I've done what research I can, but I don't know enough about all of this to have an educated opinion.

A few specifics:

I went with a cheaper RAM brand, is that a bad idea?
Is the power supply good/reliable enough for mid-high tier gaming?
I'm planning on adding an SSD down the road, but I'm skipping it for now due to my budget.
Anything missing from this build? (I've already got a monitor and headset)
Will I be bottlenecked by anything?
Will I have sufficient cooling or should I buy more?
Is there anything else I will need to buy to assemble this thing?

Update:
New PSU, added an SSD. Substantially more expensive build now. Crossing that $1000 line hurts. Don't want to sacrifice reliability/performance for price, though.

Update 2: New pcpartpicker paste in the replies below, see that listing instead of the one here.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Solution
You should be good to go. Monitor your CPU and GPU temps initially. If the temps are running high, it's easy to add another exhaust fan to that case.

This could be a good solution? If I do that and get rid of the network adapter (I can just rely on ethernet connection) I can stay in my budget.

As far as getting an SSD now, that would definitely cause me to go over budget. Maybe I can manage a really small one though. Not sure if it would be worth it.

I'd suggest you cut the RAM down to 8GB (2x4GB modules for dual channel). A good set would be the G Skill Ripjaw V. Gaming at 1080p is not RAM intensive. This will save you $30. Buy a motherboard with 4 RAM slots, then you can add more RAM later if you need it. Also, get the SSD now, performance is so much better than an HDD (startup , game loading, etc). Last, get a cheaper case to save some money and put it towards the SSD.

Some good points. I updated the part list in the OP while you were replying, but I think I can cut down a bit on the price with your suggestions.

Any chance I can get a recommendation for a comparable motherboard with 4 RAM slots? I'll definitely look around for a cheaper case. I didn't really want to part with the one I found, but I guess I'd rather have an SSD and a slightly worse case.

I think I can stick with my current mobo and just buy two sticks of 8gb ram down the road if that becomes necessary. The case I chose comes with two built in fans. My last concern is that I might need more cooling? I have no idea really.
