My goal here is to have a gaming pic with the power to run new games at high FPS and good graphics. I'm not looking for an SSD, I might also be recording on this build. The only limit there is on the build is that I want the case to be the Corsair 750D.

Solution
I agree with Jack about the case, but not about the ssd. A ssd is so much more than just fast boot times. EVERYTHING windows can do it does faster on a ssd. Gaming isn't everything. The ssd will improve everything else all the time.

EDIT: Somehow I missed the part about you not looking for a ssd. Why is that? Once you have windows on a ssd, you'll never want to go without one. Trust me.

once you install huge games on a ssd u dont wqant to go back. remember the witcher 3? almost 0 loading times on a ssd.

1. First lets address the storage issue

Windows Boot time from SSD = 15.6 seconds
Windows Boot Time from SSHD = 16.5 seconds
Windows Boot Time of HD = 21.2 seconds.

You will only get 2-3 games (Witcher 3 = 70 GB w/ DLCs, GTAV = 95 GB) on a 250 GB SSD however... so that means most will be on the slow HD.

Let's look at HD Performance in gaming
http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/hdd-charts-2013/-17-PCMark-7-Gaming,2915.html

Seagate SSHD = 9.76 MB/s
WD Black = 6.34 MB/sec
WD Blue = 4.01 MB/sec

At your budget level, I'd take the SSHD ... you give up 0.9 seconds in boot time but in gaming, it's 50% faster.

2. Video recording / editing warrants a 6700k

3. Recognizing you like the 750D, it was good case in its day ... but it's been surpassed so before pulling trigger, I'd look at the Luxe

750 D scores 89. 87, 98, 80, 98
http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/5774/corsair-obsidian-750d-full-tower-chassis-review/index8.html

Luxe score 100. 99, 100, 98, 100
http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/6574/phanteks-enthoo-luxe-full-tower-chassis-review/index8.html

Be back in a bit w/ suggested build

Solution
i want to support ct once again the big things like windows games will benefit from it with shorter laoding times , but also your regular pc usage will be ALOT more confortable. the little things like opening skype chrome word willb e faster, your pc experience will feel faster snappier and alot more smooth.

Be aware that not everything is stored in the game folder.... what about what goes everywhere also and saved games ? Counting Witcher 3's 3 major DLCs ?

Faster than what ? SSHD ? How many have you tested ? We have tested this every way from Sunday.

Test 1 - Identical laptops, one with SSD + HD ... one with SSHD. used by engineers of consulting office for AutoCAD who took home at night to game .... La

Lapptops were randomly assigned. No one could tell them apart. Problem is ... the bottleneck is the user.

Test 2 - Desktop w/ two SSDs, two SSHDs and HD. OS was installed an all drives, selected at boot via BIOS. One person noticed the HD ... no one noticed any difference between SSD and SSHD

And what is it that windows does faster that makes for the SSHD being 2.4 times faster then the blue ?

By all means... if you wanna say SSD + SSHD .... but SSD + Blue is way way gives up too much speed to the SSHD and that's where 894% of your storage space is

I broke the budget by $2

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($344.85 @ Amazon)

i7 processor for the video work + overclockable.... the OC will be very valuable in the video work, but will not effect average FPS that much.... what it will do is...

-increase minimum frame rates in those games that are CPU rather than GPU limited
-increase frame rates and minimize stuttering in multiplayer games

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($24.88 @ OutletPC)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($124.89 @ OutletPC)

SLI capable MoBo will allow SLI if you decide to go that way some time down the road.

Memory: GeIL EVO POTENZA 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($63.99 @ Newegg)

Faster RAM

Storage: Seagate 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive ($69.88 @ OutletPC)

More than 2 times faster in gaming ... you also won't be storing any videos on those SSDs. When yoiu have the money, I'd get one (250 GB minumim, but right now budget does not allow

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card ($429.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Best 1070 so far is the MSI Gaming X. This doesn't come outta the box w/ same clock rate but uses same PCB so should have no problem getting highest OCs and best cooling

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case ($74.99 @ Newegg)

Half the price and better than the 750D ... I have built in both

Power Supply: EVGA 850W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($79.99 @ Amazon)

a 750 would server well in SLI and if one card you could easily use a 650 ... however at this price, how can ya argue ?

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit ($88.89 @ OutletPC)
