What RAM to buy?

I'm doing a X99 build with a 5820K and I am going to overclock it, but I don't know which type of RAM will be better than the other, which is faster. I am going to get 16GB - 4 sticks of 4GB for quad channel, but which is better?
2400MHz C14
2666MHz C15
2800MHz C16

No real world difference , go with the cheapest.

But if you are in doubt go with the one in the middle, it is the average in speed and latency.

You can check latency w/ this formula CAS * 1000 / Speed

14 x 1,000/ 2400 = 5.83 ms
15 x 1,000/ 2666 = 5.63 ms
16 x 1,000/ 2800 = 5.71 ms

Lower is better ... but those are very close. What will you be doing with this PC

With your CPU and if going to OC could look at 3000 in a 14 or 15CL, Something like the Ripjaws V (great sticks) and if going 16GB (good pick so you cna use quad) look at the F4-3000C15Q-16GVRB about $85 at the Egg

They are the same price (2400c14 2666c15 2800c16). Any brand recommendations? I've been told G.Skill and Corsair are the best. Also the Ripjaws V you mentioned is using 1.35V instead of 1.2V, does that make any difference?

GSkill been the performance leader (as well as price) for a few years now, and yes 1.35 is perfectly fine and with sticks up around 3200 it's the norm
