Wondering if my Athlon X4 750k will bottleneck an RX 480

specs

CPU : Athlon X4 750k
GPU : Gigabyte R7 260x 1gig
MoBo : MSI A55M-E35
PSU : EVGA 500w
RAM : Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4gb)

Solution
No it won't run smoothly. You pretty much reach CPU bottleneck even if overclocked not far past your current GPU in terms of power.
It will be tremendously heavy in terms of bottleneck.
Instead of getting the RX480, get one of these, although in your case I recommend the i3 based on your budget and need for an upgrade in terms of GPU power.

The 480 is coming on monday, so I wont be able to upgrade for a while. Is it going to be bottle necked to the point where I cant run a game smoothly, or is it just not going to reach its full potential?

Having a CPU bottleneck and upgrading the GPU shouldn't make games play any worse than they already were with your old GPU. However, depending on how bad the CPU bottleneck is, there could be some situations where you may see little to no benefit to your GPU upgrade though.

Something always bottlenecks, the name of the game is pushing back those bottlenecks beyond the point where you can be bothered going any further.

@OP, depends on what games you play. As InvalidError says, games won't play any worse, but if you're seeking higher framerates, you may not get them in some games. If you're looking to increase your graphical settings in the games you play, the RX 480 will definitely deliver that.

Food for thought, a GTX 1060 might have been a better choice. AMD's video card drivers are notoriously more CPU-heavy than nVidia's, making an AMD GPU a poor choice to pair with an AMD CPU. With a faster Intel CPU, this driver overhead is less important.
