Ok hey all.

So I recently dropped my Harddrive. It was about 5 feet.
The harddrive worked perfectly before I dropped it and usually when you dro a hard drive it completely dies.
But when I plug it into my computer, the light in the harddrive turns on, it hums so the disk is working and if I gt into my devices and printers on my pc it sows my harddrive.
but it doesn't appear in my computer etc so I cant access anything on it ?
Could somebody please suggest a solution ?
It shouldn't have anything to do with my laptop because I plugged my harddrive into it before I dropped it and it registered and my other harddrive still registers now.

Thanks in advance

Hi there thehellisthis,

That is really unpleasant. :(

External drives are really vulnerable to physical shocks/hits.
If you have important data stored on the drive, my advice would be to look for some professional help. You can check WD's Data Recovery Partners out: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=Bmyp6e

As the drive is not recognized by Disk Management, most probably, you will not be able to access it with software tools.

Let me know in case you have some more questions,
