I just bought a gaming pc from ibuypower. it has an i7- 6700k with integrated graphics. Nvidia gtx 960 2gb. 16gb ram. 2 tb. the problem is i dont get the fps that i expected from game like csgo dayz and even overwatch. ive watched benchamraks and these specs seem to really handle this games from mid to high settings but with me I play them on very low. on overwatch video settings its says intel hd graphics. but that is not my gpu. my monnitor is connected to the motherboard. so would i get better fps if i connected my monitor to my gpu?

Solution
Of course you gotta connect your display to the GPU otherwise you'll use the integrated graphics.
Plug it into the jacks of your GPU and it will run smoothly

The right question here is why you buy i76700k that have 530 integrated GPU and you still have external GPU 960 gtx. If you set the correct setting from BIOS you even may get better performance from the integrated GPU then this specific external one. Next time when you buy something make a small research of what you buy and then ask proper question why this dont work as I expect. Connecting monitor to external GPU should give you on theory better performance if you have drivers for it.

If you haven't done any of this already, install geforce experience, let it install the drivers for your card, power down your computer, plug your HDMI into your 960, boot into bios, select PCI card as default graphics driver, boot into Windows, and enjoy fps for days.
