I'm upgrading from amd 7850 and was going to get R380 but noticed the R390 for an extra $100(Australian) and I would happily spend and extra $, but not if it means I have to upgrade my cpu wich is currently an Intel i5 3570k. Will it be a bottleneck and if so will it be major one?

P.s I got a 700w psu and will run at 1920 x 1080 only.

The cost, seems a decent brand rx480 are I but too pricy, I saw a comparable price with the XFX rx480 but haven't heard of that brand

Yeah xfx have been around for a good few years now, never heard anything about them being a bad company. You will always have a warranty to fall back on anyway, id say it would be worth going with a slightly lesser known company for the performance increase.

You would need a good PSU 650 to 850. the XFX PSU is a good one. the r390 will need a lot more power than the 480. I use the r390x with a i5 3570k with a xfx 850 psu. the cpu runs 50 to 70% on Fallout 4 ultra @ 1440 on a 27 " monitor.
