Solution
well if this is your board you can only use any of the cpu listed from the mother boards cpu support list with the latest bios ,and only ddr2 is supported on it

[ The following table shows the supported CPUs for this motherboard ]

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M2N/HelpDesk_CPU/

this is just a guess on what board you ''MAY'' have with the limited info your able to give
????? some platforms and cpu's can do booth ddr2 and ddr3 some can only do as speced we need to know your set up and all. [cpu your going to use- motherboard ect,,]

like this chip can do ddr2 and ddr3 for example [not both at the same time though either ddr2 or ddr3 ]

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-Phenom%20II%20X3%20720%20Black%20Edition%20-%20HDZ720WFK3DGI%20(HDZ720WFGIBOX).html

Memory controller The number of controllers: 1
Memory channels: 2
Channel width (bits): 72
Supported memory: DDR2-1066, DDR3-1333
DIMMs per channel: up to 2
Maximum memory bandwidth (GB/s): 21.3

If your mother board supports it.

Say for instance if this is an AMD chip the Bios would have to be written a certain way to either not use the memory controller in the chip or tell it to run that controller in DDR2 mode.

the cpu has to support it as well

do you see ddr2 listed here ?? all the mother board in the world don't help under ddr2 use

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-FX-Series%20FX-8350.html

now some Intel like 775 has the controller on the motherboard to do ddr 2 and ddr3 so the cpu is not a factor on them [combo boards ]

like skylake has on / in the cpu a ddr3 and ddr4 controller

you just need to give us all the info on what you plan to use
