Recently i've started to notice that my CPU is getting high temperatures on idle and within the BIOS. The temperatures i'm getting are between 43-50 degrees Celsius. This is when i'm in the bios and on the desktop.
The CPU i have is an intel 4790k (NOT overclocked) with the stock cooler, i've applied new thermal paste to the cpu using the pea method, today to see if that would make any difference. Unfortunately it's stayed the same. The thermal compound i used is Artic Silver 5. I've checked processes in task manager to see if its any processes causing this issue but there isn't as the cpu is only on 5-10% usage.
I will try updating the bios to see if that changes anything.
But my other specs are:
Msi Z97 Gaming 5 - motherboard
Msi GTX 1080 Gaming X 8GB - GPU
G Skills Ripjaws X 16GB 1600Mhz (2x8GB) - RAM sticks
Sandisk 128GB SSD
EGVA SuperNova Gold 850Watt PSU
Windows 10 Home - OS
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
