hello, so i want to change this miserable windows 8 it's killing me
i want to change to Linux because wanna start learning programming but i need a safe net like i need to be able to store my version of windows in a flash drive so whenever i wanna change back i wipe my pc and plug in the flash drive and go back to windows.
i need _if possible_ all the steps to switch to Linux

You can dual boot. Much easier. In that way you can have windows 8 and linux at the same time. Each time you want to switch to windows/linux you just restart. Get Ubuntu because it is a popular distro and will have lots of support.

Oh but can I do that with an hp pc that has an i3 processor ? If yes how can I exactly do that ? What are the risks ? And btw what's the difference between ubuntu and linux ?
